CV Maker

Privacy

Last updated 25 September 2026

The short version

  • No account, no cookies, no tracking. There are no analytics or advertising scripts, and nothing loads from third parties.
  • Your CV lives in your browser. It is saved on this device, not on our server.
  • To make the PDF, your CV is sent to our PDF service. It is typeset in memory, sent back to you, and not stored.

What is stored on your device

CV Maker keeps your work in your browser’s local storage so it’s still there when you come back:

  • your CV content, including your photo if you added one;
  • your settings (theme, CV language, file name, whether the preview refreshes as you type);
  • which section you had open and whether you are still editing the example CV.

This data never leaves your device unless you preview or download a PDF (see below). Anyone who uses the same browser profile can see it. It stays until you erase it: use Look & file → Erase from this browser, or clear your browser’s site data.

What is sent to our server

When the preview refreshes or you download the PDF, the content of your CV and your settings are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our PDF service. The service builds the PDF in memory and returns it. Your CV content is not written to disk, stored in a database or logged.

Your photo is cropped to a small square and compressed in your browser before it is sent.

Like every website, our server has to see your IP address to answer your browser. Technical logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser type) may be kept for a short time for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted. They never contain your CV content.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t use cookies or similar identifiers.
  • We don’t use analytics, advertising or social media trackers.
  • We don’t load fonts, scripts or images from other companies. Everything comes from this site.
  • We don’t sell or share your data, and we don’t use it to train anything.

Files you save

Save as file downloads a .json copy of your CV to your own device. Open a file reads such a file in your browser. Neither of these uploads the file anywhere.

Your choices

  • Erase everything from this browser with one click under Look & file.
  • Turn off “Refresh the printout as I type” to send your CV only when you press Refresh or Download.
  • Keep your own copy with Save as file and remove it from the browser afterwards.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
